Miles Murphy Earns Rank of Eagle Scout
Cranford High School senior, Miles Murphy, became an Eagle Scout on October 3, 2023. As his Eagle Project, Miles renovated a room at the Cranford Community Center that can now be used for storage by community members. He removed an old sink and cabinets and designed, built and installed a wooden storage unit. He also had local community members and workers, including police, fire, first aid, fellow scouts and students add their handprints to the “Helping Hands in Our Community” mural.
The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) rank of “Eagle Scout” is the highest rank a young person can reach in Scouting. In fact, only around 5% of all Scouts who join ever reach the Eagle rank.
