Winter Chorus and Orchestra Concert
The Music Department of Millburn High School proudly presents its annual Winter Chorus and Orchestra Concert on Thursday, December 15 at 7:30 P.M. in the high school auditorium. This concert is free and open to the public.
Chamber Strings will perform Dvorák’s Serenade for Strings. Chorale will present an arrangement of Hotaru Koi, a Japanese Folk Song, as well as a rendition of Invitation to Love by Marques Garrett. The Symphony Orchestra will perform three pieces from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, Ravel’s Pavane for a Dead Princess, and from Holst’s celestial showpiece The Planets- Jupiter, the Bringing of Jollity. The Miller Chorus and Cantica Nova will perform pieces by Marques Garret, Abbie Betinis, and Thomas Morley. They will also perform I Am In Need of Music by David Brunner and an arrangement of Barso Re by Allah Rahman. The concert will conclude with a combined Chorus and Orchestra performance of Ennio Morricone’s Nella Fantasia.
Ensembles are under the direction of Ms. Flora Yousefi, Director of Orchestras, and Mr. Rodrigo Vega, Director of Choirs.
