Memorial Field Upgrades Nearing Completion in Time For Fall Season

A project to install restrooms and a new concession stand at Memorial Field spearheaded by the Cranford Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) and the Cranford Soccer Club (C.S.C.) is nearing the final stages prior to the 2016 PAL Football Season.
Working together to fund this project is the Cranford P.A.L., Cranford Soccer Club, Hull- Vicci Construction, the CAT Fund, the Cranford Booster Club, the Township of Cranford, PSE&G and numerous generous sponsors.
Since 2015, a committee consisting of Police Chief James Wozniak, Police Captain/PAL Treasurer Guy Patterson, PAL President Gregg Wheatley, PAL Executive Director Sgt. Matthew Nazzaro, Project Supervisor John Vicci, Project Supervisor Tony DiGiovanni, Booster Club President Bob Bruns, and Commissioner Tom Hannen have met periodically to help bring this project to fruition.
P.A.L. Executive Director Matthew Nazzaro commented on the progress of the project. ‘The partnership between multiple private organizations, public entities, our township government, and many charitable sponsorships to get this idea off the ground into a meaningful, complete asset has been incredible to witness’, he said. ‘Our parents, kids and community deserved this addition to Memorial Field and we know it will be enjoyed for generations to come. We look forward to acknowledging all of our charitable partners at the ribbon cutting ceremony later this year.’
The project included the addition of new men’s and women’s bathrooms as well as a state of the art concession stand and new picnic area.
