The Mountainside Public Library has scheduled the following programs for March and early April. The Library will be closed on March 30, in observance of Good Friday.

When the Nazis arrive, they must reach the Swiss border on their own. Based on a true story. On March 20, we will screen “Maudie” (2016, PG-13). Maudie, a rising folk painter, is hired to be the housekeeper of the recluse, Everett Lewis. Unexpectedly, Everett finds himself falling in love.
“Dunkirk” (2017, PG-13)
is our feature film on
March 27.
Christopher Nolan directs this World War II thriller recounting the evacuation of Allied troops from the French city of Dunkirk before Nazi forces can take hold. Showtime is 6:30 p.m. for each movie.

Friday Operas on Film series, sponsored by the T. Robel Hill Foundation and presented by Mena Clemson. A 1976 recording of Adriana Lecouvreur by Francesco Cilèa will be screened. Montserrat Caballé and José Carreras star, and the NHK Symphony Orchestra of Tokyo is conducted by Gianfranco Masini.
New Jersey Makers Day

Join us for the Fourth Annual New Jersey Makers Day! Makers Day is designed to be a statewide event that celebrates, promotes, and introduces maker culture, as well as the values associated with making, tinkering and STEM-based learning. This year, in addition to all-day 3D Printer demonstrations, we will feature a variety of hands on projects and activities for children of all ages from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is a must, and priority will be given to Mountainside residents!
