SANTA ARRIVES AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER – DEC 9TH
The Long Hill Community Center invites all Long Hill children and their families to their 23rd annual Kids Holiday Party on Sunday, December 9th, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. at the Center located on S, Warren Ave. (across from Jaeger Lumber) Stirling.
This event is free to all LHT children and their families. The party will commence outside at 1:00 p.m. Central Middle School 6th Grade Blue & Gold Band, under the direction of Eileen Schanager, will entertain the crowd while waiting for Santa’s arrival via a fire truck provided by the Stirling Fire Department. Then the party moves inside with Santa and the countdown to light the beautiful tree, donated by the Beneduce Family from the Great Swamp Greenhouse. Children can then share their wish list with Santa and receive a complimentary gift and candy. The party is also outside with complementary mule-drawn festive redcovered wagon rides and also a petting zoo, presented by Kaska Farms, Warren, NJ. DJ Mike, will provide lots of Holiday music and feature games for the children. Among other activities will be a professional clown that will delight the kids with her exciting magic and balloons. Face painting, and sparkle nail painting, along with decorating holiday cookies and making a craft, will be led by local LH Girl Scouts. Kids ages 3-8 can enter our coloring contest with a prize to the winner in each age group, donated again this year by John and Pat Murphy of the Learning Express Toy Store. All entries will be displayed at the party, and all winners must be present to receive prizes. Flyers have been electronically distributed through the schools. An entry form can be downloaded at lhcommunitycenter.org. Mail as directed before deadline, Dec. 7th.
Again this year, the Community Center will be co-sponsoring a Toy Drive in cooperation with The Long Hill Twps. PBA #322 and the Long Hill Twps. PTO. We ask all who attend the party to please bring a new, unwrapped toy for ages newborn through teen. They will be distributed to sick or injured children hospitalized during the holidays and throughout the year. Holiday treats, brownies, cookies, candy, hot chocolate, cider and coffee will be served throughout the party, donated by The Stirling Hotel, Dunkin Donuts, Burger King, and Shop Rite.
