Long Hill Chamber of Commerce

As we look forward to 2017, I am enthusiastic about our local businesses and the impact they make in our communities. At our Annual Dinner held at The Meyersville Inn on October 27th, we unveiled some of the Chamber’s plans for the upcoming year for creating a strong and prosperous business community. Reflecting back on the past year, it is remarkable how much our local businesses give back to the community in their generous support and sponsorships of events like the Stirling Street Fair, the Freedom Bike Tour, and most recently the Halloween Parade, where more than a dozen local businesses showed up to provide free treats for the participants. At the Annual Dinner, we were able to present $500 checks to both the Millington and Stirling Fire Departments, C.E.R.T., the First Aid Squad, and the Police Explorers, all through the contribution and generosity of local businesses. As a chamber, we want to continue that same kind of support to our community, and to encourage the community to “shop local” to support all the businesses that are vital to the strength of Long Hill Township.
We are currently in the process of establishing a Long Hill Chamber FaceBook page where local residents can find special offers, flash sales, and great deals at local chamber member merchants. This will be a great way for the residents to access local opportunities to save money on the goods and services they routinely use.
To support our members, we will be having frequent networking events (our next one is at Renew Salon and Spa in Gillette on Tuesday, November 15th from 5:30-7), lunch and learns, and starting in December, “Morning with the Mayor”, where members will have the opportunity to meet with Mayor Bruce Meringolo and Deputy Mayor Guy Piserchia over coffee to discuss issues and concerns affecting the business community.
Joining the Chamber helps create a cohesive effort to pursue our goal of a prosperous business community in our township that continues to support our residents, civil services, and civic organizations through its success. You are eligible for Chamber membership if you own or operate a business in Long Hill Township or one of the neighboring towns. Please contact Jen Ward, Membership Chair, at jward@recordernewspapers.com, or me at mcavett@karate4peace.com to join.
