The Long Hill 8th grade girls travel basketball team won the Third Annual Green Brook Shootout held in Green Brook. In their semi final game against Mountainside, Long Hill needed a basket at the buzzer to put the game into overtime.
They outscored Mountainside by 4 points in the extra period and won be a score of 53-49. Long Hill played Warren in the championship game and utilized strong defense and 3 point shooting to gain the victory by a score of 42-26. Alexa Santo, Scarlett Glasser-Nehls, Caitlin Bonnesen and Sophia Cicchetti were the high scorers in the championship game with 16, 8, 7 and 6 points, respectively. Caitlin Bonnesen and Alexa Santo were named to the all-tournament team and Alexa Santo was named the tournament MVP.
