All fourth-grade students in Linden Public Schools got a chance to visit the Hawk Rise Sanctuary in Linden during the week of October 22-26,2018. There they were able to explore lessons related to the “Environments” science kit they are using in class. Pictured are students from School No. 1.
The Hawk Rise Sanctuary is located on Range Road in Linden, NJ and is open to the public daily from dawn until dusk. The city-owned natural resource and wetland complex has long been recognized by numerous Federal, State and non-governmental organizations as an important environmental feature in the Rahway River and Arthur Kill watersheds. Please note dogs are not allowed on the trails.
Under the stewardship of the New Jersey Audubon Society, a full suite of natural history programs for families and adults are offered, many are free. For more information including a schedule of events visit: njaudubon.org/places-to-visit/hawk-rise-sanctuary/
