Linden Police Department Hosts the 2nd Annual Youth Academy
The Linden Police Department celebrated the graduation of their 2nd Annual Youth Academy class on July 26, 2019. The week-long program included physical fitness training and drill instruction, as well as a series of lectures and hands-on skills demonstrations by Linden Police Officers and representatives from various state and county partners.
“It is amazing how much these cadets have grown in such a short time,” said Police Chief David Hart. “This is not an easy program, but they persevered and pushed through it. We are very proud of all they have accomplished.”
This year, the program was expanded to include an additional 15 participants, thanks to a generous donation by the Columbia Bank Foundation.
“We are pleased that the Columbia Bank Foundation was able to support several projects for the community of Linden,” said Thomas J. Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank. “We are confident that the donations will touch the lives of many.”
The Department would like to thank Linden Public Schools for their assistance in providing facilities for the Academy, the Linden High School NJROTC, who served as junior instructors throughout the week, the Columbia Bank Foundation, and all the partner agencies who made the Academy an unforgettable experience.
