Lincoln School Students Study Light Waves

8th Graders Study Light Waves

Submitted by Kathryn Bree

Mrs. Bree’s 8th grade students in Garwood Lincoln School are studying light waves and how they reflect, refract, diffuse and are absorbed. In a hands-on lab experience, students used sunlight and flashlights with prisms, lenses, filters, mirrors, and more to determine how light waves interact with the different medium. Mrs. Bree calls it “rainbow days” and students followed in Newton’s footsteps to direct light in a multitude of ways.
