6th Graders Celebrate Earth Day
Mrs. Bree and the 6th Grade at Lincoln School in Garwood spent an entire month evaluating the human impact on the environment in preparation for Earth Day on April 22. Students learned about the multitude of ways that we can help improve the Earth’s condition in the areas of the air or atmosphere, the land or geosphere, and the water or hydrosphere.
As part of their unit on environmentalism, the students were privileged to have a virtual assembly and had live question-and-answer periods with professionals working in the emerging green technologies fields. Each individual picked two actions that they pledged to do moving forward in these areas and created their own “Earth Action Plan” in time for the international day of recognition.
Mrs. Bree is confident that this next generation will take great care of our planet due to their recognition of the problems and education of Earth Sciences.
