Leo Graf served as the Grand Marshal of Union’s 2018 Memorial Day Parade.
Graf was born in 1944 in Germany. He came to the United States in 1960 at the age of 16 at which time he worked as a baker. In 1965 he joined the U.S. Army and completed his basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. In 1966 he was deployed to Vietnam with the 196th Infantry Brigade. Upon his return in 1967 he married a wonderful women named Jane, and spent his last 12 months of service at Fort Devens in Massachusetts.
Graf has been a member of the VFW for over 20 years and has served as Commander of the Union VFW Michael A. Kelly Post 14 times over 17 years.
