LearningRx Warren Free Cognitive Skills Assessment
LearningRx Warren has been a fixture in this community since 2010. We share your unease regarding your children’s schooling. Teachers, doctors, therapists, and parents are rightly concerned about the long-term implications of school closures and online learning. Because there are no easy solutions and much is out of our control, this causes a great deal of anxiety.
For these reasons we realize you may be more concerned with your children’s struggles than at any point prior to the pandemic. But while you are aware of your children’s struggles—with reading, attention, or math—you may be unsure about how to help. We’d like to give back to our community and offer you our resources and assistance.
We can help you gain insight and some control. Now through September 15 we are able to sponsor families with children aged 8 to 14 for a free, digital cognitive skills assessment. The Gibson Test of Cognitive Skills (thegibsontest.com) is a nationally normed and validated assessment. You’ll get a report which will detail your child’s cognitive skills profile and we will explain how to interpret the results. This test and accompanying report will allow you to:
- Identify your child’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses in seven key areas including memory, attention, processing speed, visual and auditory processing, and more.
- Understand the reasons why you may be seeing persistent challenges in reading, following directions, or other academic issues.
- Focus your efforts on appropriate interventions rather than waste efforts on solutions that probably won’t work.
