Leading the Way to Help Others in Need
Mason Immella, a 7th grade student at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School, is working to make a difference and help those in need throughout the New Jersey area.
By contacting Meagan Mulligan at Jersey Cares and Dr. Norma Bowe at Be the Change to ask which items were in greatest need for local shelters, homes, and runaway safe havens, Mason identified that basic hygiene products were what most people lacked. With that, he organized and assembled kits made up of shampoo, conditioner, soap, bodywash, toothbrushes, and deodorant in hopes to give some sense of comfort and normalcy to their lives.
Over 60 bags in total were made to be distributed to these organizations, with a goal of doubling that amount in the spring. What a great influence this young man is becoming in our community.
