Kiwanis Club Hosts Benevolence Event, Honors Key Club Members
On April 23rd, 2019, the Kiwanis Club of the Chathams/Madison hosted its annual Benevolence event at Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse in Chatham. The event is the culmination of yearly efforts which give back to local organizations such as Senior Centers, Emergency Responders, Food Pantries, and Little League.
Special recognition awards were given to members of the Chatham and Madison High School Key Club. For Chatham, the recognition award was given to Anjala Jobanputra. As secretary of the Key Club, she keeps track of volunteer hours for over 350 members. Her organizational skills kept everything smooth throughout the year, ensuring all volunteer and fundraising efforts were maintained throughout.
For Madison, the recognition award was given to Madison Camp. Madison’s efforts included food drives, Special Olympic fundraising, as well as bake sales or simply participating in activities with special need teens. Madison plans to serve as club Vice President next year, and the club looks forward to her continued participation to ensure its success.
The Kiwanis Club alongside the Key Club will always strive to better our community, providing scholarships and fundraising to our youth and beyond.
