Kenilworth Public Library’s “Bard on the Boulevard” Presents: Macbeth

Something wicked this way comes to the Kenilworth Public Library this fall, when the Hudson Shakespeare Company presents Shakespeare’s dark tragedy, Macbeth. The third and final installment of the “Bard on the Boulevard” series will be presented at the Kenilworth Public Library on Thursday, October 19th at 7:00 p.m.
Just in time for Halloween, new and returning members of the Hudson Shakespeare company will bring this macabre tale to life in the library stacks. This performance of the “Scottish play” will feature Adam G. Brooks as the murderous, ambitious ruler and Taylor Baskin as the conspiring Lady Macbeth, with Tom Duke, Joshua Blount, Arielle Legere and Jess Rawls rounding out the talented cast. With an unsettling atmosphere and gruesome subject matter, Macbeth remains one of Shakespeare’s most performed, studied, produced and beloved works.
Funding for “The Bard on the Boulevard” has been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs. Additional funding has also been provided by a generous donation from the Kenilworth Chamber of Commerce.
The Hudson Shakespeare Company has been involved in productions both classic and modern since 1992. Recent Bard on the Boulevard plays have included a series of Shakespeare’s Histories, as well as Macbeth, Two Gentlemen of Verona, and Pericles. Their skilled players and directors combine the comic and tragic to produce unforgettable performances.
