Kenilworth Memo From The Mayor

Kenilworthians, it looks like Summer is finally here and keep in mind with the hot weather and enjoying the outside, heat stroke and heat exhaustion are a real thing. Here are some signs to look out for; throbbing headaches, dizziness or light headedness, lack of sweating, red, hot and dry skin, muscle weakness or cramps, nausea and vomiting, rapid heartbeat and rapid shallow breathing. It is important to remember to stay hydrated and drink plenty of fluids, if possible get out of the heat or apply cooling towels. Please check in on your neighbors especially the sick and elderly.
Kenilworth utilizes the Swift 911 system to get information via landline phone or to cell phones if you wish. Sign up is free and is located on our Kenilworth Borough website. Our goal is to get everyone signed up and we will have information and a sign-up center at the Seniors as well as the Library so we can help those who might be confused as how to do it. In times of crisis, the ability to get information quickly and accurately is imperative, this system allows the authorities to reach as many people as possible.
Here are some important events and dates for Kenilworth on the Calendar for the Month of July:
July 2: Is our annual Kenilworth Fireworks display at the Kenilworth High School Field. Show starts as soon as it gets dark.
July 4: Observance of the birth of our Great Nation. As many of you are enjoying your day off, please remember those who are working today keeping us safe, like our Fire, EMS and Police. And especially remember all our soldiers here and abroad.
During the whole month of July Kenilworth Public Library has a ton of events for children and adults alike, check in at www.kenilworthlibrary.org for more details.
As always visit our website at www.kenilworthborough.org for more details about these events and more.
In closing, stay safe out there Kenilworthians, enjoy all the great freedoms we have in this great Country. But keep a watch on any strange or left behind objects and if you see something, say something.
God Bless you all and God Bless America
Mayor Anthony DuLuca
