Jean Hughes honored by The Junior League of Summit
The Junior League of Summit (JLS) is thrilled to award Jean Hughes of Chatham with the JLS Sustainer of the Year Award. Jean has been a valuable member of the JLS for over 65 years, most notably through her service to the Junior League of Summit Thrift Shop. In addition to being named Sustainer of the Year, the JLS also named the sorting room in the Thrift Shop in Ms. Hughes’s honor, which she advocated for and spearheaded. Ms. Hughes can still be found offering a friendly smile and assistance in the shop to this day. Ms. Hughes conveys the JLS mission to maintain a welcoming environment for our customers, creating a community, rather than a retail establishment. The JLS is appreciative of Ms. Hughes’s commitment for over six decades and thanks her for her commitment. Ms. Hughes was presented with the award at the Junior League of Summit Annual Dinner on May 15, 2019.
