Joseph E. Soehl Middle School, of the Linden Public School District, recently received the 21st Century Grant Award. This is the 12th year in a row that the district has presented the grant to Soehl Middle School.
21st Century Community Learning Center grantees provide after-school programming for students; there are 57 of these grantees in the state of New Jersey, one of which is Soehl Middle School. When the regular school day has ended, the after-school program supplies middle school students with homework help, enrichment classes, and recreational activities. Over 2,400 students have participated since the start of the 21st Century Community Learning Center at Soehl Middle School.
