Annual Movies under the Stars featuring Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
The Township of Union Recreation Department is proud to bring back their “Movies Under the Stars” for its fifth year. Held at Rabkin Park, 1 Swanstrom Pl E, Union, NJ, the movies draw residents from the far reaches of town, and provide a one of a kind source of family entertainment.
“With the weather warming up, we are looking forward to another great season of movies,” said Mayor Michele Delisfort. “This is the perfect way for families to come out and enjoy a night filled with great entertainment and lots of fun for all ages.”
The first movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 8:30 p.m. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is a PG movie about Miles Morales, a Brooklyn teen boy who becomes the Spider-Man of his reality, crossing his path with five counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.
Starting at 7:00 p.m., there will be pre-entertainment such as a photo booth, music, strolling Spider-Man and Spider Gwen characters, and a Rams obstacle course. Goodie bags will be provided for children on a first-come first-served basis.
Movie goers are encouraged to dress in costume for the most creative Spider-Man costume contest. Judging for the contest will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Winner will be announced at 8:30 p.m., followed by the movie.
Movies under the Stars are open to the public and are free of charge to attend. Blankets and chairs are welcomed. Food is available for purchase from the Rams concession stand.
