Woman’s Club of Berkeley Heights Fall Harvest Festival Fundraiser
October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. Since 2006, the GFWC and NJSFWC Woman’s Club of Berkeley Heights has been making monetary and in-kind donations to the Union County YWCA domestic violence program.
We chose to give our support to this vital program because of the way in which it assists women and their children who are escaping physical, psychological, or any threatening abuse from their partner.
The shelter has 30 beds for women and their children. The YWCA program also includes counseling, art therapy, job training, PALS Program for children, legal assistance, transitional housing and supportive housing.
Collections vary with the season. They include toiletries, cleaning supplies, single bed sheet sets, socks, gloves, hats, scarves, art supplies, journals, umbrellas, overnight bags, etc… Members knit or crochet aphgans, hats, and scarves. A member and her daughter have made 34bed quilts so far this year! If you are interested in helping contact Chris at 908-771-5527 and
