This year Jim Cline, a long standing member of the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad, has received The Overlook Hospital EMT of Excellence Award. Jim has been on the BHVRS since 2001. He has been the treasurer, recording secretary and actively organized the annual fund drive. “Since Jim retired he hasn’t kicked off his shoes, sat back and relaxed, he has taken extra shifts and attended events, like the Berkeley Heights Street Fair, the Cadets’ Blood Drive, and the Boy Scouts’ Winter Derby, to name a few.
Whenever we see Jim at the squad, we are greeted with his warm, friendly smile. Jim has a compassionate and caring nature, both with the patients and fellow BHVRS members. He is always willing to share his EMT knowledge with our newer members and cadets, and lend them a helping hand when needed,” said Chief Samantha Lloyd. Jim is an excellent EMT and an incredible person to have on the squad; the squad is very lucky to have him. Jim received his award at the Overlook EMS Awards Dinner held on May 24th. The Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad could use a few more Jims, for more information call (908)-464-1141 or go online to www.bhvrs.org.
