Jillian Olear Receives the National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Award
Jillian Olear, eighth grader at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School, recently received the National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Award. Olear received the recognition at the NJHS induction ceremony held on April 25, 2019.
This award recognizes exemplary students and seeks to help them jump-start their quests towards higher education. The application is based on academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, and character. Out of approximately 160,000 NJHS students across the United States, fewer than 1% receive this award. Olear’s recognition comes with a plaque and a monetary award that will be placed into a college savings account.
NJHS Advisor Suzanne Hamilton stated, “Jillian is so deserving of this award. She has maintained a high academic average all while volunteering in both our school and community at large. I’m so proud of Jillian for being the first ever Carl H. Kumpf recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award.”
