Jaycees Donate to PAL Scholarship
On Tuesday, February 9, the members of the Cranford Police Department who also volunteer for the Cranford Police Athletic League (PAL) received a generous donation from the Cranford Jaycees as part of their fundraising efforts for Track Friday.
The PAL established a memorial scholarship for Will DeGregorio this year after his courageous battle with cancer. In addition to raising funds for 2 other benefactors, the Jaycees raised over $2,800 for this new PAL scholarship, which will be awarded to graduating Cranford High School seniors during the Senior Awards Ceremony this year.
“Track Friday is an amazing opportunity to bring our community together behind many great causes. We are so fortunate to have had the Cranford PAL Will DeGregorio Memorial Scholarship chosen as one of the main beneficiaries this year,” said PAL Director Matthew Nazzaro.
Track Friday organizer Eric Rubinson and his team from the Jaycees presented PAL Executive Director Matt Nazzaro, President Chris Polito, Secretary Brian Trotter, and Board Members Greg Federici and Ali Muhammad a check at headquarters. Present was Kara Shields, Will’s mother and PAL Board Member Kim Capece, Will’s Aunt.
