John “Jack” Sheehy was honored by the Linden Citizen’s Association with the “Paul Werkmeister Outstanding Citizen Award”. Named after the former Mayor of Linden who founded the association, the award is given to a member who has demonstrated exemplary dedication to the city. Sheehy is being recognized for his services.
Jack Sheehy has spent many years both working in local politics and volunteering his time to the community. He has spent his weekends volunteering with youth in the Multi-Purpose Center Masterpiece Program, mentoring teenagers through organized sports. Sheehy also supports community events with his time, having volunteered for many years for the Linden Halloween Parade, September to Remember, and the Mal Eckred’s Soap Box Derby.
Politically, Sheehy begam as a Commiteeman at the age of 18. He later served two terms as the 7th Ward Councilman for the years 2008-2013.
Sheehy married Linda Hesse in 1985. They have four children, Jacklyn, Katelyn, Dayna, and John III.
The Linden Citizen’s Associaiton is pleased to recognize Jack Sheehy as their Outstanding Citizen this year for all of his hard work, and sends prayers for him now as he is in need of a kidney transplant.
