Isabella Betancourth opens her second business
Pace University
Starting a business at any age is never easy, but for 18-year-old Watchung native Isabella Betancourth, it has always come naturally. Isabella, who is completing her freshman year at Pace University, has already started her second business and seeing success that belies her age. The young entrepreneur started in elementary school making and selling lip glosses, stickers and bracelets to her friends before starting her first official business in high school, Icon Sweats, where she made tie die shirts and custom college apparel clothing.
Fast forward to last year when Betancourth started her freshman year at Pace’s Lubin School of Business. Since she couldn’t bring the materials for her clothing business to college with her, she once again embraced her ambition and started her second business. Isabella took her passion for jewelry and began creating and selling jewelry through pop-up stores and her website isabellasjewels.shop.
“I have been going home on the weekends, getting in my car and doing pop-up shops, mostly in New Jersey, Long Island and Manhattan,” said Betancourth. “This gives me the opportunity to spread the word about my website and for my customers to shop in-person. I like to try things and whatever sticks, sticks.”
