Hometown Heroes New Interactive Map
The City of Summit is proud to launch an upgraded interactive map feature that enables residents and visitors to locate each Hometown Heroes banner quickly and easily throughout the city. This innovative tool enhances the ability to honor and recognize the valor and service of Summit’s veterans and active military personnel.
The new interactive map, created by Summit resident Dan Palusak, is accessible on the city’s official website and offers a user-friendly interface. Users can search for specific heroes or browse through the map to discover every banner’s location.
“With the upgraded interactive map, we aim to foster a deeper connection between our community and the brave individuals who have served our country,” said Summit Mayor Elizabeth Fagan, MD. “This tool not only makes it easier for everyone to find and pay respects to our hometown heroes but also serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedoms.”
The Hometown Heroes program was launched to pay tribute to Summit’s military members who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. Banners are displayed prominently throughout the city from mid-May through mid-August.
