Watchung Home Depot Employees Beautified Mountainside Memorial Veterans Park
Mountainside Memorial Veterans Park was beautified in time for Memorial Day by a team of Watchung Home Depot employees led by Green Brook resident and assistant store manager, Leo Geib. Leo is a former Mountainside business owner.
In the park’s planning stage Home Depot gave the Mountainside VFW a credit card to be used to purchase some materials for the project. Since the park has been built, the store has helped out every spring with planting and mulching around the monument.
Employees volunteer their free time to work on projects as part of the Home Depot Foundation’s annual Celebration of Service season which encourages employees to support veterans worldwide. Other local projects employees worked on this season included veteran’s buildings in Dunellen and Scotch Plains.
