Jamie Wronski, teacher, and Jennifer Sanchez, guidance counselor at ALJ are co-advising the Heroes and Cool Kids this year, and they attended Vonage in Holmdel where former pro athletes provide training to our ALJ students. Our high school students then visit the 6th graders at CHK Middle School and impart their wisdom in the areas of withstanding peer pressures, bullying, etc. as well as leading healthy lifestyles and attaining one’s goals. Our high school students, who once were 6th graders themselves are learning how to convey this information in a fun and interactive way so that the younger kids are able to relate, feel comfortable in sharing, and connect with older students. There will be two more trainings with Vonage throughout this year for our ALJ students who will then continue to visit with our 6th graders.
