Hannah Caldwell Day – June 8
The Union Township Historical Society invites you to honor Hannah’s heroism during the 1780 Battle of Connecticut Farms, when she lost her life and became a martyr for the cause of the American Revolution. Come to the Caldwell Parsonage, 909 Caldwell Avenue, Union, on Saturday, June 8, between 2 and 5 p.m. Admission is free! For more information, call 908-591-4377.
Activities will include:
Chatting with Hannah’s husband, the “Fighting Parson,” Rev. James Caldwell (played by Meridoc “Doc” Burkhardt thru a Union County HEART grant); sampling old-fashioned sugar cookies and lemonade; butter-making; playing Native American and colonial games; working a wringer washing machine; shopping for souvenirs; making tricorn hats and colonial bonnets; collecting historic trading cards; getting Union County passports stamped.
