Green Brook Lions Club Scholarships
The Green Brook Lions Club announces a minimum of $8,000 in scholarships are available for award to Green Brook residents who are graduating from high school this spring, and who meet the following criteria.
The Green Brook Lions Club Scholarship applicant must demonstrates a reasonably high level of academic achievement and be of good character. The student must continue their formal education in a two- or four- year college or a vocational program. The main consideration will be the applicant’s involvement in working with the handicapped, infirm or the less fortunate, and show their involvement in community service. A minimum of $1,500 will be awarded for this scholarship.
The David T. McGarry Scholarship applicant will continue their formal education in a two- or four- year college and be pursuing a degree in business, and must show good math skills, exemplified by good grades and advanced classes. A minimum of $1,000 will be awarded for this scholarship.
The Prichard-Murphy Memorial Scholarship applicant must demonstrates a reasonably high level of academic achievement and be of good character. The student must continue their formal education in a two- or four- year college or a vocational program. The main requirement is that the candidate will be continuing their education in the field of education or fine arts. A minimum of $500 will be awarded for this scholarship.
The Kenneth G. Herrmann Scholarship applicant will continue their formal education in a two- or four- year college and be pursuing a degree in engineering, and must show good math skills, exemplified by good grades and advanced classes. A minimum of $2,000 will be awarded for this scholarship.
