11th Annual 9/11 Stair Climb
Green Brook Volunteer Firefighters
On September 10, 2023, Green Brook Volunteer Firefighters took part in the 11th Annual 9/11 Stair Climb to honor those that made the ultimate sacrifice September 11, 2001. Hosted by Raritan Township Fire Company and Hunterdon Health, the challenge of the event is to climb the equivalent of the number of stairs in full turnout gear and air packs that FDNY Firefighters climbed in the World trade Center prior to the collapses. Each participant climbed in remembrance of a FDNY Firefighter who lost their lives that day. As a team – Green Brook Volunteer Firefighters climbed in remembrance of our Past Chief Alvin P. Kappelmann Jr. who lost his life at the Trade Center on that day.
