Please join the Hanson Park Conservancy as we welcome the Gordon James Jazz Quartet, as part of our free Summer Concert Series, on Sunday, June 12 at 5:00 PM at Hanson Park, 38 Springfield Ave. in Cranford. Trumpeter, flugelhornist and vocalist Gordon James and his quartet will take you on a journey through the different eras of jazz and feature music from artists including Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Antonio Carlos Jobin, Mongo Santamaria, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Chet Baker and original music by Gordon James. So pack a picnic, grab a lawn chair and get ready to enjoy the beautiful park surroundings while listening to the smooth sounds of jazz.
Based out of New Jersey, Gordon James has appeared with or opened for such artists as Roy Aryes, Angela Bofill, Bobby Caldwell, Pieces of a Dream, Chuck Loeb and many others.
