Gordon Graceffo Drafted by St. Louis Cardinals
Congratulations to Cranford High School alumni Villanova pitcher Gordon Graceffo on being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2021 MLB Draft. Graceffo, a right-handed pitcher and Junior at Villanova became the 70th all-time draft pick from the program.
Ranked among the top 250 draft prospects in this year’s draft, Graceffo was selected 151st overall following an outstanding season on the mound. He is the Wildcats highest draft pick since 2011. The former Big East Pitcher of the Week was also named to the 2021 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-East Region team, as well as the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
Born in Cranford, N.J. Gordon is the oldest of three children of Gerald and Melanie Graceffo. While playing for the CHS baseball team he earned three varsity letters, while also being honored as a three-time first team all-conference and three-time first team all-county selection.
The selection to the Cardinals is a great way to cap off an exceptional year from Graceffo. Congratulations and best of luck to Gordon!
