Like many nonprofits throughout New Jersey and across the country, Good Grief welcomed the return of in-person fundraising events this spring as pandemic restrictions ease and families embrace opportunities to gather safely in groups to renew their connection to organizations helping others.

After more than a year of holding virtual events and fundraisers, Good Grief returned to an in-person format for its annual 5K Run & Walk on Sunday, June 6 at Giralda Farms. The event drew more than 800 registrants to run, walk and volunteer and helped raise $160,000 to support free programs for grieving children and families.

“We were thrilled to be able to bring our Good Grief children, families and the extended community together for this cherished event,” said Good Grief CEO Joe Primo. “Over the last year, our community has demonstrated incredible resilience in the face of the grief, loss and uncertainty posed by the pandemic. It was truly gratifying to see children and families walking and running to honor their loved ones.”

Sponsors recognized for their support of the event included The Sharp Financial Group, Strawn Arnold & Associates and Deloitte.
