Watchung 4th Grade Girl Scout Junior Troop #65293 completed their community “No Idling” Take Action Project in June. The girls set up tables at the Bayberry Elementary School and Valley View Middle School Spring Concerts to educate the community about the environmental, health and economic downfalls that come from excessively idling vehicles. The girls were able to get over 80 adults to complete a “No Idling Pledge”. The pledge will be sent in to the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The school’s administration installed “No Idling signs at both schools in order to remind bus drivers and parents to not idle while stopped. The girls hope that their message will help make a cleaner and healthier environment for everyone.
