Garwood Daisy’s Dedication Ceremony
Submitted by Vanessa Schubring
Garwood Daisy Girl Scout Troop 41108 earned their “Daisy Flower Garden Journey Award” by making a difference in town. On November 3rd, the girls dedicated a children’s bench and flower garden to Hartman Park in Garwood. The girls invited Mayor Sara Todisco and Council President Jen Blumenstock to their dedication ceremony and asked them to join in their socially distanced Girl Scout circle. Part of their journey was also planting flowers around town during quarantine and being responsible for watering them.
“This is a wonderful and thoughtful addition to the new Hartman Park. I look forward to seeing children sitting on that bench and tending to the garden for many years to come!” Council President Jen Blumenstock said.
“This is another impressive example of community pride and giving back to others by Garwood Daisy Troop 41108. My sincere gratitude goes out to this group of girls and their troop leaders.” said Mayor Sara Todisco
The girls also welcomed 5 new members into their Troop. Four girls joined us from a Clark Troop that disbanded and one girl is new to Garwood. We welcomed them with socially distanced open arms. Congratulations girls!
