Drama Queens: Dark Beauties for Your Garden
The Garden Club of Watchung welcomes Garden Historian, Leslie Parness for a very special presentation, “Drama Queens: Dark Beauties for Your Garden”, at St. Mary’s Stony Hill Church, Murray Hall, Mountain Blvd., Watchung, on March 1, 2023, 1:00 p.m.
“Defined as the absence of color, black in its many hues can highlight, offset and dramatize every real color in your garden.” Leslie will show how to use over 75 dark beauties to create rhythm, punctuate place, outline areas and focus the eye to add drama to your garden. Leslie will provide a useful plant list of these dark beauties that include annuals, perennials, vines, trees and shrubs.
Leslie is a member of the Herb Society of America, the Council on Horticulture and Botanical Libraries, and Garden State Gardens, a consortium of New Jersey State Gardens of which she is a founding member and past president. Her column, The Garden Historian, is featured bi-monthly in the “Gardener News”. She is retired from her position as superintendent of horticulture education at the Morris Park Commission.
The Garden Club of Watchung is a non-profit organization and a donation is greatly appreciated.
