Rotary Cub Delivers Dictionaries to Students
The Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club celebrates “Dictionary Day” annually by visiting the local elementary schools and distributing free dictionaries to every third grader. Rotarians enjoyed interacting with the students and talked about how to use the dictionary and other useful information in the dictionary such as the states, presidents, and the longest word. Students participated by looking up words and discussing their meanings, spelling, and pronunciation. In an age of technology, it was wonderful to see the smiles and enthusiasm of the students when they received the dictionary!
The students also learned about Rotary and the work they do both locally and internationally. If you’d like to learn more about the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary club, go to fsprotary.org or visit their Facebook page: Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club. The club meets on Wednesdays at noon at the Stage House Restaurant. On the last Wednesday of the month, the club meets at Darby Road at 6:30 p.m.
