Exceptional customer service is everything to the success of any business or organization and something which distinguishes a business or any kind of organization from its competition.
New Jersey businesses and nonprofit organizations have an opportunity to offer their employees free training– to enhance the quality of the customer service their businesses offer to their customers– at the Summit Public Library this spring. As smart business people know, customer service has become more important than ever and is actually the new public relations. All businesses and organizations can benefit by sending their employees to receive practice in applying good customer service to a variety of scenarios, which may involve customer complaints or conflicts. This hands-on training is geared to address the specific issues and needs faced by individual attendees and the businesses and organizations they represent.
The “Industry-Business Institute” at Union County College is partnering with Summit Public Library to offer free workshops, in customer service, which will be taught by experts in their fields. These hands-on workshops in customer service will be offered Tuesday and Wednesday, May 9 and 10 from 8:00 am -12 noon. Participants will discuss and practice the principles of effective internal and external customer service. The workshops are designed to build skills in listening, probing and questioning, dealing with difficult customers, resolving conflict and complaints and diffusing tempers, while remaining positive and professional.
They are offered through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development in cooperation with the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development.
All New Jersey businesses and nonprofit organizations are eligible to register. For more information, contact Denise Petrosky by phone at 908-965-2359 or email: petrosky@ucc.edu
