The public is invited to attend a free concert given by The Musical Club of Westfield on November 14, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. This is only one in year-long series of events sponsored by the Musical Club and will be held at the First Baptist Church of Westfield located at 170 Elm Street in Westfield, NJ.
The concert will open with a piece entitled Wildflowers by composer Eric Ewazen. A composition for trio, it will feature Jenny Cline, playing flute and piccolo, clarinetist Kevin Dayton and pianist Helen Rybe.
The program will continue with cellist Doug Hardin and pianist Beverly Shea who will perform Cello Concerto in B minor, Op.104, B.191, by composer Antonin Dvořák and Carnival of the Animals by composer Camille Saint-Saëns.
Pianist Helen Ryba will close the program with Piano Sonata in A minor, D 537 by Franz Schubert.
There will be a reception with light refreshments immediately after the concert where audience members will have the opportunity to meet the performers. The Musical Club of Westfield is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster and encourage good music, provide performance opportunities for local musicians and support young musicians from Union county with college scholarships.
