Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Summit Grand Opening
Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Summit, NJ, hosted a memorable grand opening event on Sunday, April 14, 2024, showcasing the elegance and vibrancy of ballroom dance. The celebration was attended by Mayor Fagan, Council President Lisa Allen, Council Member Jamel Boyer, and Council Member Kevin Smallwood, alongside owners and teachers from various Fred Astaire Dance Studios throughout New Jersey.
The event began at 3:00 PM and featured live music from “The Beverlee’s” throughout the afternoon, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. Guests enjoyed dancing, mingling, and sampling refreshments while appreciating the studio’s talented instructors and special performers.
Special performances by dance couples “Irvin and Lupita,” “Sergei and Marina,” and “Jeff and Judith” highlighted the studio’s commitment to providing world-class dance instruction and entertainment to the local community.
Owners Gabriela Jileva and Gregory Capar, a husband-and-wife team, also own the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Morristown, NJ, which has been thriving for the past 17 years. Many of their loyal Morristown students attended the Summit grand opening to show their support, along with local residents and Summit students.
Gabriela shared, “We are delighted to bring the Fred Astaire Dance Studios experience to Summit. This grand opening event was a wonderful demonstration of the joy and connection dance brings to people’s lives. We look forward to continuing to serve and inspire our students for many years to come.”
Gregory added, “Dancing goes beyond the dance steps; it promotes a lifestyle that enriches lives physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. We are excited to share our passion with the Summit community and create a space where everyone can experience the joy of dance.”
For those who missed the grand opening, the studio invites the community to an open house guest party on May 23rd at 7:30 PM. This event offers another opportunity to explore the joy of ballroom dance.
