Hehnly School’s Virtual Earth Day Celebration
Frank K. Hehnly School celebrated Earth Day virtually this year on Wednesday, April 22. Although the celebration was a bit different this year, the Hehnly Recycling Crusaders recognized this special day in many ways.
FKH staff and students were invited to wear their Earth Day shirts or colors (green and blue) to represent the day. Students were encouraged to participate in an outdoor, socially distanced activity, such as gardening or cleaning up their yard. Mrs. Nina Conner and Mrs. Annemarie Estevez, the Recycling Crusaders Advisors and Hehnly teachers, were both excited to see the participation from their Hehnly families. Mrs. Conner stated, “We are both proud to be a part of Clark’s team and know that Hehnly teachers will continue to do everything to give the children as many typical experiences as possible under the circumstances.”
Mrs. Conner and Mrs. Estevez sent out a few fun supplementary activities for the students to take part in: an Earth Day scavenger hunt, two videos, and a link to a virtual visit to the NASA website to see an Earth Day Special.
