Florham Park Library Summer Reading Breaks Record
The Florham Park Public Library’s Summer Reading Program exceeded all expectations, setting a new record with more than 300 youth participants. Additionally, this year witnessed the exciting addition of adult participants, making it an even more engaging and inclusive community program.
The Summer Reading Program, a highly anticipated annual event, is supported each year by the Friends of the Library organization. This year, the program was also enriched by generous contributions from local businesses.
Three Birds Yoga and Trader Joe’s donated wonderful prizes for the adult raffles. Huntington Learning Center generously contributed gift cards which further elevated the raffle prizes.
Support from the NY Jets, NY Giants, and Somerset Patriots added excitement to the children’s raffles. Additionally, Florham Park Roller Rink donated passes for free skate sessions, and Scoop Coop, a charming boardwalk-style ice cream shop located in East Hanover, sweetened the deal by donating coupons for free ice cream.
Beyond reading, a variety of events and activities made it an unforgettable summer at the Library. From Zoophoria, a captivating lizard and amphibian show, to Better Together, an enchanting magic show, participants were treated to a series of mesmerizing performances. Family Fort Night brought the joy of building forts inside the Library after closing hours, while a thrilling Planetarium Adventure opened the door to the wonders of the cosmos. The Terrarium Event, led by the Florham Park Garden Club, provided young patrons with an opportunity to witness nature’s charms firsthand as they created their very own miniature gardens.
Florham Park Public Library is immensely grateful to all participants who made this summer truly special with their enthusiasm and love for reading. The Library also extends its heartfelt thanks to all the sponsors, local businesses, and community members who made this summer’s reading program a remarkable success.
