First Council meeting of 2023

Borough of Fanwood

The Fanwood Borough Council met at its first regular meeting of the new year on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, with a relatively light schedule of business. The Council approved an extension to its current Shared Services agreement with Union County for 911 dispatch services and a revision of bids for repairs to the Carriage House roof because recent bids were actually under the appropriated amount of money allowing the Borough to expand the project.

Mayor Mahr swore in Environmental Commissioners Eric Gaulin, Sandy Redder and Phyllis Sandrock. Pending projects for the Commission this year include repairing the footbridges and paths in the Fanwood Nature Center.

Mayor Mahr She also appointed new members to the Planning Board and Board of Health.

Police Director Michael Bramhall presented his annual report of police department activities to the Mayor and Council. The Director said community events make up a major portion of the report. Many photos of the activities appear in the document, which is posted on the Borough website at fanwoodnj.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/2022-Annual-Police-Report.pdf
