FIRST AID SQUAD SEEKS VOLUNTEERS WITH VARIOUS SKILLS AND TALENTS

The Cranford First Aid Squad is in need of volunteers of all ages, from 16 to 75+. Various skills and talents are needed to run a non-profit organization.
According to Captain Kent Lucas, those interested in becoming an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) do not need previous knowledge or training. To become an EMT a member will be required to take a one-semester class and pass the NJ certification exam. Prospective volunteers may also be interested in becoming a CPR instructor, or ambulance driver. The Cranford First Aid Squad provides all training free of charge.Captain Lucas also said they are especially in need of older members, such as those who have experience or interest in any of the following: fundraising, recruiting, grant writing, basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, webpage and graphic design, organizing events, media and public relations. Administrative volunteers do not need to have any interest in the medical aspect of EMS, just the desire to be a part of a vibrant and diverse organization which provides a valuable service to the Township of Cranford.
