Friends of the Library Vegetable and Herb Seedling Sale

May 4 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

May 5 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Vegetable and herb seedling sale, May 4-5 Just in time for spring planting! The Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library are sponsoring a sale of organic and heirloom seedlings on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the LaGrande Park Pavilion (with rain dates the following weekend, May 11-12, during the same hours). Hundreds of seedlings will be available, including tomatoes, peppers (hot and sweet), lettuces, cucumbers, beans, eggplant, kale, Swiss chard, basil, parsley and more. The expert gardeners who started the plants from seed — both of whom live in Fanwood — will be on hand to offer advice and answer questions about when to plant, how to cultivate, suggestions on companion planting and other helpful tips. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library. For more information, call (646) 342-6373. The Friends wish to thank the Farm at Green Village in Green Village, N.J., for donating the trays that will hold and transport the seedlings. We appreciate their generosity and support!
