Neighbors helping Neighbors – Join the Virtual Food Drive
Submitted by Sara H. Johnston
The Fanwood Community Foundation (FCF) together with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) launched a virtual food drive to help the CFBNJ food pantries, including our local Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Food Pantry. At this writing, the food drive has brought in more than $5,400 for CFBNJ. The FCF matched these donations up to $2020, which has been directly donated to the IHM Food Pantry.
The staggering economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a dramatic increase in the need for food. But with your help, the CCFNJ can reach more families during this uncertain time. Your gift makes a difference – just $1 supplies 3 nutritious meals.
You can still make a donation to the FCF virtual food drive by visiting: http://support.cfbnj.org/goto/fanwoodcommunityfoundationcovid19. Your donation is tax deductible and you will receive confirmation of your donation.
According to a recently released Monmouth University poll, roughly 1 in 3 Americans has felt economic pain due to loss of income, and low-income households have been hit hardest. The Community Food Bank of New Jersey can’t do it alone.
The FCF has been supporting the community through donations from local donors – individuals, families, and businesses since 1998. The FCF provides these public spirited donors with a vehicle for using their gifts in the best possible way now and in the future, thereby providing for inevitable change.
The Foundation uses a portion of the income from these invested donations to provide grants and support to the local community, like IHM and the CFBNJ. The FCF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization making your donations tax-deductible. For more info visit fanwoodcommunityfoundation.org
