Fanwood Businessman Trains For NYC Decathlon

A Fanwood business owner and his team will be competing in this year’s New York City Decathlon, a ten-event amateur competition that has raised millions of dollars for a consortium led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center that’s doing research to benefit pediatric cancer patients.
Joe Cirincione, owner of J. Ciro Designs (watches, cuff links and accessories) and his brother competed last year, raising $6,700. This year, Joe’s team has already raised more than $18,000 towards their goal of $20,000. “We are excited and appreciative of everyone’s contributions and words of encouragement,” says Joe
This year, it’s a true family affair with Joe and his brother, Steve, being joined by their dad, Guy, and family friend Matt Anuszkiewicz. The brothers have always been close, playing various sports together since they were kids and continuing their interest in sports into their adult lives. Their experience in the Decathlon last year had a large impact on them.
“We set a number of personal bests,” recalls Joe. “It was an incredible journey leading up to an amazing day on the field.” To support the Cirinciones’ team or to learn more about the event, visit https://nyc.thed10.com/teams/115 Joe runs his watch and cuff links business locally, based at his home in Fanwood.
