Fall Fiber Fun – Sept. 17th
The creation of homespun yarn and textiles that could be transformed into clothing, bedding and more was an important craft on the colonial farm. Observe colonial fiber techniques close-up as members of the Westfield Weavers Guild demonstrate on hand looms and more. Costumed docents will also be on the grounds with drop spindles and knitting needles for anyone who wants to give these time-honored fiber crafts a try. The fully furnished c1740 farmhouse will be open for viewing and our cooks will be demonstrating 18th century open-hearth cooking using authentic early American techniques and recipes. Admission is $5 ages 13 and older; $4 ages 3-12 and free age 2 and younger. No reservations are necessary.
